Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy rehabilitation aims to optimise patient function and well-being, to help integrate that patient back into their chosen lifestyle activities whether at home, work or leisure. Physiotherapists are healthcare professionals trained to examine, diagnose, and provide treatment for a variety of conditions. Physiotherapy can provide reassurance, advice and education on how to best manage symptoms.

MOT Paediatric Developmental Check

If you are concerned about your child’s growth and development or if you are not sure if your child needs treatment, if you need reassuring and advice, we recommend our comprehensive assessment MOT baby or child Check-up. Our developmental check includes a thorough physical, orthopaedic and neurological examination.

We assess your little one from head to toe to verify the integrity of the child’s bones and muscles, identify asymmetries and signs of motor development issues.

Early physiotherapy assessment and diagnosis is key to early intervention and successful treatment of children at risk.

Intensive Blocks of Physiotherapy – Paediatrics

During all school holidays we are able to provide intensive physiotherapy blocks for babies, children and young people with a wide range of conditions. These blocks will take place during all holidays apart from Christmas and will be two hours daily, over 4 days.

Blocks are a great way to really focus on your child’s physiotherapy goals. These blocks give your child the opportunity to work hard, and focus on their therapy. Intensive therapy blocks focus on achieving goals such as improved strength, posture, balance or achieving developmental milestones.

How does it work?

Neuroplasticity is the ability of the brain to undergo biological changes ranging from cellular level to large scale changes involving cortical remapping. It simply means the reorganisation of neural pathways in the brain through various repetitive experiences. Long lasting functional changes in the brain can occur when children and young people learn new tasks or memorise new information. Our Intensive blocks of therapy aim at targeting neuroplasticity.
